Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way in which people deal with emotional difficulties and mental illnesses. The goal in psychotherapy is to enable the individual to function better and to acquire skills and coping mechanisms in order to deal with a particular life event.
The length of sessions is typically 50 minutes. The duration of therapy can either be short term (weeks) or long term (months) depending on the needs of the client and the complexity of the issues which need to be addressed.
